Fractals as art - successfully connection between art and mathematics:
Spirals are of great importance in mathematics and also in the art and have been always very fascinating for me. Between art and mathematics there are above all two parallels: The relationship to the reality and the central meaning of the beauty. Fractals are referred to as a new geometry because they look nothing like the more traditional shapes such as triangles and squares known within mathematics as Euclidean geometry.
These beautifully fine detailed 3-dimensional looking fractal spirals are done with Apophysis. To achieve this colourful, translucent, deepness I usually rework my fractals comprehensively in Photoshop.
